MINUTES 9-6-05     SEPTEMBER 6, 2005 TAX HEARING

 

This meeting is the first of two hearings that are  required according to the Truth in Taxation laws that apply to the adoption of the property tax rate for the Town of Ransom Canyon. These hearings are required because the proposed tax rate is higher than the effective tax rate.

 

This meeting agenda notice was posted on the City Web Site, published in the Slatonite, and was physically posted on the front door of City Hall.

 

The City Council met in open meeting at 7:00 P.M., September 6, 2005, at the Ransom Canyon Fire Station which is located at # 1 Ridge Road. This meeting place is within the Ransom Canyon city limits.

 

Mayor Robert Englund presided. A quorum was reached with Earl Starks, Ron Cox and Donna Clarke. Dick Hulslander arrived after the meeting adjourned.

 

Mayor Englund called the meeting to order and asked for a moment of silence. He then explained the reason for the meeting. The proposed Tax Rate was the only item on the agenda.

 

There were no questions from those in attendance about the proposed tax rate.

 

Earl Starks moved to adjourn. Ron Cox seconded the motion, all agreed and the meeting adjourned.

 

The next required Tax Hearing will be held Friday, September 9 at 7:00 PM.

MINUTES: TAX HEARING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2005 

This meeting was called to order at 7:45 PM Friday night, September 9, 2005. The meeting was held at the Ransom Canyon Fire Station located at # 1 Ridge Road, Ransom Canyon, Texas. Mayor Robert Englund called the meeting to order. A quorum was reached with Earl Starks, Ron Cox and Donna Clarke. David Peterson and Dick Hulslander were absent.

 

No one from the public attended this meeting.

 

There were no questions, no discussion.

 

Earl Starks moved to adjourn, Donna Clarke seconded, and the meeting adjourned.
